Support During COVID-19
The current pandemic has changed so much in our lives, and I am working hard every day to ensure I am taking the appropriate measures to ensure my client’s safety and comfort. I take guidance from the Doula Association of Ireland and the current governmental restrictions. Below I have created a list of the measures I take:
Additional Trainings & Certification through HSEland:
Measures I take during prenatal meetings, postpartum meetings and childbirth workshops:
Measures I take during labour support:
Due to the nature of doula support, social distancing is not possible. However, I will still wear a mask and practice good hand hygiene.
Additional Trainings & Certification through HSEland:
- Hand Hygiene for Non-Clinical Staff
- Introduction to Infection Prevention & Control
- Putting on and taking off of PPE in community healthcare settings
Measures I take during prenatal meetings, postpartum meetings and childbirth workshops:
- Frequent hand washing and/or sanitising
- Wearing a mask
- Emailing necessary documents beforehand
- Adhering to social distancing when appropriate
- You will receive a checklist that both parties complete to ensure there are no additional risk factors
Measures I take during labour support:
Due to the nature of doula support, social distancing is not possible. However, I will still wear a mask and practice good hand hygiene.
I feel it is important that people use open communication so that everyone can feel comfortable and confident together. If you would like to discuss any of the above further please do get in touch and I will try to answer any questions as best I can. I also have a duty to protect myself and my family, so if I feel an environment is not safe, or that the measures I have taken are compromised, I may have to adjust plans.
